Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

OmniConnect LLC ("we," "our," "us") built KinConnect on a founding principle: your family's data belongs to your family. OmniConnect LLC does not operate proprietary servers that store your personal information and is not designed to provide us with access to your content. This Privacy Policy explains what data types the app processes, where that data resides, and your rights as a user.

2. Data Processed by the App

KinConnect processes the following categories of data solely to provide you with app functionality. This data is stored securely within Apple's CloudKit infrastructure and is not collected or retained on any server operated by OmniConnect LLC:

  • Name: used within the app to identify family members within your private network.
  • Photos & Videos: media you choose to share within your family's private vault, stored securely via Apple's CloudKit.
  • Audio Recordings: voice messages and audio content you create, stored securely via Apple's CloudKit.
  • Approximate Location: used only while the app is in the foreground to display local weather and for optional location-based posts. The app does not request or use background location access.
  • Account Identifier: your iCloud record identifier, used to authenticate your session.
  • Email Address (optional): if provided, stored within your family profile via Apple's CloudKit.
  • Phone Number (optional): if provided, stored within your family profile via Apple's CloudKit.
  • Wellness & Mood Entries: personal reflections and check-in data, stored on your device unless you explicitly choose to share them with your family network.

KinConnect does not use any of the above data for tracking, advertising, or behavioral profiling.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

KinConnect is designed to encrypt your family's content on each device before it is stored within Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Encryption keys are generated on a per-family basis and stored locally on each authorized device. This architecture is designed so that OmniConnect LLC does not have the ability to access, read, or decrypt your family's data. Certain app features may process data locally on your device; such processing occurs entirely on-device and the underlying data is not transmitted to OmniConnect LLC or any external server operated by us.

4. Data We Do Not Access

KinConnect is built without third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or behavioral tracking tools. We do not:

  • Track your behavior or usage patterns within the app.
  • Build user profiles for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • Sell, rent, license, or otherwise monetize your personal data.
  • Share your data with any third party for their independent use.

Biometric authentication (such as Face ID or Touch ID) is handled entirely by your device's operating system and is never accessed, transmitted, or stored by OmniConnect LLC.

5. Third-Party Services

KinConnect relies on Apple's CloudKit and iCloud infrastructure for data storage and synchronization. Your use of these services is governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. OmniConnect LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices, security measures, or data handling of Apple Inc. or any other third-party platform or service provider.

6. Children's Privacy

KinConnect is not directed at children under the age of 13. All user accounts require an Apple ID, which is subject to Apple's own age requirements. Family members under 13 may be represented as profiles created and managed exclusively by a verified adult administrator, who assumes responsibility for providing any required parental consent for data processing on behalf of the child.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Certain categories of messages within KinConnect are designed to auto-delete after a short period. Content that you explicitly choose to preserve is retained within Apple's CloudKit until you or your family administrator removes it. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app's settings. Upon account deletion, we initiate removal of your data from CloudKit in accordance with Apple's standard data deletion processes.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to certain processing activities. Because your data resides within Apple's CloudKit infrastructure — not on servers operated by OmniConnect LLC — you may manage your data directly through the app or by contacting us using the information below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification or other reasonable means. Your continued use of KinConnect after such notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
